Data Logger Sofrel LS-V

The SOFREL LS-V is an IoT data logger for pressure management and control in drinking water networks, manufactured by LACROIX under the SOFREL brand, which specializes in remote management and monitoring solutions for water networks. It belongs to the SOFREL LS data logger range and is the only model in the range that, in addition to measuring, operates a two-stage pressure control valve.

The LS-V drives the valve through a 3-way, 12 V latch solenoid valve with an operating pressure of 0 to 16 bar (0 to 232 psi), switching between normal and reduced pressure according to a time slot, a flow rate or a pressure level. Its weekly calendar supports up to 4 time slots per day for normal pressure and programming of 1 to 5 thresholds, with a low-pressure holding time between each slot. For this purpose it provides 4 digital inputs for meters or status signals and 2 analog inputs for SOFREL pressure sensors or third-party sensors on a 4-20 mA loop.

In addition to valve control, the LS-V calculates average flows, night flow, daily volumes, and daily minimum and maximum flows, and stores up to 50,000 data points locally. Its enclosure features enhanced IP68 waterproofing, verified by an independent laboratory through 100-day immersion tests under 1 m (3.3 ft) of water. It runs on a lithium battery with 8 years of battery life with 4 daily solenoid commands and one daily SCADA communication; its FLEX version also accepts external power from a photovoltaic pack, mains supply, micro-turbine or battery.

Data is transmitted over 2G/3G cellular networks to the utility's SCADA system, with daily synchronization, and the unit automatically tests reception to identify the best available operator. The LS-V communicates in inter-station mode with SOFREL S500, S4W and AS RTUs, integrates with industrial supervisory systems and third-party applications, and simplifies data use through the SOFREL WEB LS IoT platform. It is configured in the field via Bluetooth.
