Data Logger Sofrel LS-Flow

The SOFREL LS-Flow is an IoT data logger for remote flowmeter reading and district metering in drinking water networks, manufactured by LACROIX under the SOFREL brand, which specializes in remote management and monitoring solutions for water networks. It belongs to the SOFREL DL4W 4G LPWAN data logger range and stands out for its direct connection to electromagnetic flowmeters from leading manufacturers.

Through its RS-485 Modbus link, the LS-Flow reads internal data directly from SIEMENS MAG 8000, ABB Aquamaster, KROHNE Waterflux and ARAD Octave flowmeters: volume indexes, instantaneous flow, operating alarms and, depending on the flowmeter model, temperature and pressure data. It also provides 1 analog input for a SOFREL pressure sensor or for powering third-party sensors over a 4-20 mA loop, and 1 digital input for status signals. It calculates average flows, night flow, daily volumes, and daily minimum and maximum flows, and stores up to 100,000 data points locally.

Its enclosure features enhanced IP68 waterproofing, verified by an independent laboratory through 30-day immersion tests under 4 m (13.1 ft) of water, and a military-grade waterproof connector. It runs on a lithium battery, in standard or high-capacity versions, with up to 10 years of battery life depending on the usage profile. For chambers with limited cellular coverage, it is available with the FLEX antenna option: a 4 m (13.1 ft) external antenna with IP68 certification.

Data is transmitted over 2G/4G M2M cellular networks (LTE-M and NB-IoT) to the utility's SCADA system, with daily synchronization; if the 4G LPWAN network is unavailable, it automatically switches to 2G. The LS-Flow communicates in inter-station mode with SOFREL S500, S4W and AS RTUs, and simplifies data use through the SOFREL WEB LS IoT platform. It is configured in the field via Bluetooth using the SOFTOOLS software.
